Specialist Educational Needs
(SEN)

SEN at Allstars Activity CIC

At Allstars Activity CIC, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their individual needs, has a space to thrive and feel valued. The development of our Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision has been a particularly close-to-heart journey for me, as it was inspired by my own experience as a mother to a child with ASD.

In 2021, my eldest son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a moment that profoundly shaped our work at Allstars. When I initially created Camp Allstars, I wanted to create a space where children, including my son, could be engaged in a child-friendly environment that was mindful of their individual needs. Through the camp, I spent valuable time with my son in a setting that allowed me to better understand his challenges, such as difficulty with large groups, loud noises, and emotional regulation. This experience led me to seek support from specialists and pursue a deeper understanding of how best to support children with similar needs.

The creation of Camp Allstars became a way to not only meet my son’s needs but also to offer a supportive, tailored environment for other children facing their own challenges. Over the years, our SEN provision has grown from strength to strength, evolving based on both professional input and my son’s invaluable perspective. His firsthand experience has been essential in shaping how we approach SEN, as there is no better understanding of a child’s needs than that seen from their own eyes.
We’ve welcomed children with a range of needs at Camp Allstars, including those with mild learning disabilities, sensory issues, ADHD, ASD, and mobility issues. Our flexible and inclusive approach ensures that every child finds a space where they feel comfortable, supported, and engaged. By adjusting our activities, routines, and environment, we ensure that each child can enjoy the camp experience to the fullest.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce the development of a specialized SEN camp that will cater specifically to children with SEN needs in the community. In addition to our holiday camps, we will also be launching after-school drop-in sessions, both of which will offer a nurturing environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of our children. We are passionate about continuing to build on this provision and providing the best possible support for our children.
If you would like more information about the SEN services we will be offering starting September 2025, please feel free to reach out by completing the contact form on our website. We’re excited to continue growing and evolving our SEN provision to make a positive impact on children in our community.
