At Allstars Activity CIC, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their individual needs, has a space to thrive and feel valued. The development of our Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision has been a particularly close-to-heart journey for me, as it was inspired by my own experience as a mother to a child with ASD.
In 2021, my eldest son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a moment that profoundly shaped our work at Allstars. When I initially created Camp Allstars, I wanted to create a space where children, including my son, could be engaged in a child-friendly environment that was mindful of their individual needs. Through the camp, I spent valuable time with my son in a setting that allowed me to better understand his challenges, such as difficulty with large groups, loud noises, and emotional regulation. This experience led me to seek support from specialists and pursue a deeper understanding of how best to support children with similar needs.
